The Lovell Sisters were a five-piece band featuring an innovative fusion of folk, country, and contemporary acoustic music. This is their debut album which was released after the three sisters won NPR's A Prairie Home Companion w/ Garrison Keillor - a US National Talent Competition in 2005. The project was engineered in Nashville by co-producer, Brent Truitt, who has played mandolin with the Dixie Chicks, Dolly Parton, and Alison Krauss. The album has been very well received. The three sisters. Jessica, Megan, and Rebecca began lessons in classical violin and piano at age five. And sang as a trio for in the church choir. All three were members of string quartets and youth symphony orchestras and, at 15, Jessica was co-principle of the second violin section in the SAU Symphony Orchestra. Bitten by bluegrass, The Lovell Sisters strayed from their classical roots after friends introduced them to the jamming and traditional music of the Signal Mountain Opry near Chattanooga, TN. Jerry Douglas' Slide Rule was the first bluegrass album they heard, inspiring Megan to play the resophonic guitar.
Great these sister are fantastic!
